It's Almost Time!

Hello my fair readers! My postings are few and far between but that's only because things have been out of control hectic around here. Between weddings, bbqs, parties, concerts and vacations there's hardly been a moment to breathe.

Upcoming events: DMB in Saratoga in 2, that's right, TWO days!! YAY! So excited too that Ariane, Derek and Laurie are coming! Then, 3 days later, we leave for Alaska! That means that I won't really be at work for the rest of the month (Thank God! I need a seriously long break!)

For the time being though I'm just going to continue working my toosh off and forge ahead with the wedding planning (which has been put on hold until after the cruise). Less than one year to go!

HEAT WAVE!

It has been hot, hot, hot here for the last few days. The heat and the humidity has been so brutal that I'm beginning to feel like I'm in rain forest, or the Sahara. Saturday there was a little bit of relief since we were over Ariane's house and I went in the pool for a bit.
But then Monday came, and back at work the A/C was BROKEN! It was around 82 degrees in my office the whole day. So hot that my make-up was melting and I started to vaguely resemble Alice Cooper. NOT a good look for me.

Today is a little better, but I still can't wait to get out of here. Last Friday marked exactly 1 year until the wedding and I have soooo much to do. It just seems like there's never enough time. My only saving grace is that I've enlisted the helps of bridesmaids and several family members. Without them, I don't think anything would be done.

And now it's back to work!

Happy DMB Days!

I meant to post this yesterday since it was DMB Day #1, but I was waaay too busy for anything recreational, since I left work early yesterday for the show. Headed down to the lovely community of Camden and ended up parking in something that looked like an airplane hangar. It was a little weird. Aaron was pretty grossed out by the town itself; and who could blame him? It's biggest attraction is the throng of toothless crack heads. The show itself was good, but could have been better. Check out the set list:

Dreaming Tree ~ Gravedigger ~ Grey Street ~ The Maker ~ So Damn Lucky ~ One Sweet World ~ Jimi Thing ~ Crash Into Me ~ Money ~ #41 ~ Sister ~ * Everyday ~ Corn Bread~ Louisiana Bayou ~ You Might Die Trying ** Encore Hey Hey My My ~ Tripping Billies

It seems like an awesome list, but just lacked energy... I can't really complain though because it's Dave, and I love him regardless! I'm really hoping that tonight's show is a little more lively, though. All in all we had an awesome time! Check us out!

Just a Little Food for Thought....

Gas prices have been soaring so high, that even though my commute isn't that long, I've still been considering asking to work one day from home. It's just too expensive to go anywhere, anymore. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so.....

2 Years? Feels more Like a Lifetime!

I'm just kidding, Boo! Today is our 2nd Anniversary. On the agenda for tonight, a nice quiet dinner at the Black Horse Tavern in Mendham. Looks like a pretty nice place and I'm kind of excited to dress up!
As for the rest of the weekend, tomorrow I'm going dress shopping with Ariane because I still
haven't gotten anything to wear to Lauren's wedding on Sunday. I'm such a bad last minute shopper. I really need to stop doing this to myself. And then, as I said, we have the wedding on Sunday. Mozel Tov Lauren and Brian!
That aside, things have been kind of on and off here. Still trying to deal with the day to day bullshit (which is just getting more annoying with each passing minute). I'll make it through.

Well, that's all for today! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Hump Day Already?

Despite our recent loss, I'm trying to keep my spirits up. There are a lot of exciting things coming up that I've been looking forward to for a while. Lauren's wedding is on Sunday, followed by 2, yes TWO, DMB shows in Camden, then another 2 in Saratoga where we will be camping, and finally ALASKA.
The month is jam packed with stuff that felt like an eternity away when we first planned it; and now it's here already!

Before all of that though, I have to make it through this week. I have a dentist appointment tonight to finish a root canal and I have to have some blood work done, hopefully by Saturday. I also need to find a dress for the wedding (I'm a terrible last minute shopper), in addition to getting my eyebrows done and a few other last minute odds and ends.

But fear not, despite my preoccupations, I will keep updating!

Cheers!
